Browser security handbook from Google

Google has taken out chrome from Beta recently. After this, Google has come up with a helping hand to consider browser security. Google is providing the Browser Security Handbook for ensuring this.

This resource is primarily aimed at the application developers. Browser engineers and other researchers working in information security area could make use of this handbook. This will provide a proper insight into the major security concerns of the Internet Explorer and other browsers including Opera and FireFox.

Google considers that most of the security flaws happen because of the failure from the part of the web content developers and other engineers. Hence, Google has taken an attempt to fight against this absence of information, which it considers a major reason for the security problems.

Google is trying to make the web safer for use by the internet lovers. With this aim, they are issuing this book to the public. This is a 60 page document. It provides proper information on various security features and other characteristics which are common to all browsers. Implementation tips are provided to the application developers as well. This will help the future engineers when they work on the security enhancements from the browser side.

You forgot to give the link– http://code.google.com/p/browsersec/wiki/Main

After looking over the document briefly, browser developers would probably be most helped by this, but there’s some stuff that should prove interesting to people in many different web-related fields.
