Google will change the search results based on the country and the language preferred by the searcher. A recent patent in this context also consider the populations in which the searcher will be a part of.

I have started noticing that I can do the same search
5 minutes later and get different results

If it works how they say it will then surely it will be of benifit. You will get the results most suited to you. But Vancouver makes a good point about disabling it to get true results, just in case.

Interesting idea, but it begs the question whether Google would modify the “organic” SERPs based on things like how much money a site’s owner pays. I just hope there’s a way to disable it if I want “true” results, rather than what Google assumes I want.

I don’t care for the personalized results, though I expect I’ll get used to them with time. Google does need to be constantly improving their algorithms to stay on top.
